It is an organization of Saami painters and handicraft artists. Its aim is achieve equality at the Nordic level. it has organized art exhibitions and happenings, including <i>Min otná dáidda</i> Our present arts in Tromsø in1980, <i>Sápmi eallá</i> Saamiland Lives , a travelling exhibition in 1981, an exhibition <i>Vi er samer</i> We Are Saamis in the Danish National Museum in Copenhagen in 1992, <i>Sámi Dáidda</i> Saami Arts an exhibition which was put on in Greenland, Panama, Copenhagen and Oslo in 1994, and it has maintained a sales exhibition In Karasjok since 1985. The association published an art journal called <i>Čehppodat Áiti</i> in 1981. <i>Sámi Musihkkariid Searvi</i> The Association of Saami Musicians was founded in 1982 is a professional organization of juoiggus artists, musicians and lyricists. Its aim is to improve the work opportunities for musical artists. <i>Sámi Teahtersearvi</i> The Saami Theatre Association was established in 1980; it is a cooperative organ promoting the interests of Saami theatre workers and actors across national frontiers.</P>
