<P align="justify"> Norgga Boazosámi … <P align="justify"> Norgga Boazosámiid Riikkasearvi (NBR) - Norske Reindriftssamers Landsforbund (NRL) (the Reindeer Herders Association of Norway). The first joint meeting of the Saami reindeer herders was held in Tromsø on 9th and 10th October 1947 with the purpose of founding a joint association of the reindeer-herding Saami and the establishment of a Saami school in central Norway. Altogether 100 persons, of whom only three were from the Saami lands and a few from Sweden, attended. No organization was founded at the meeting because the old reindeer husbandry areas were so poorly represented in it. Forty years earlier there had been talk of setting up such a national association because at that time there were only smaller organizations in Norway. Norgga Boazosámiid Riikkasearvi (NBR) was accordingly founded in the second meeting of the Saami in Tromsø held from 28th to 30th June 1948. It became an occupational union, negotiating with the government and providing expert advice, for example when legislation on reindeer husbandry was being drafted.
