<P align= justify > <I>Bággi</I>, (in Finnish <i>panka</i>), is a leather ring put over the head of a reindeer at the beginning of the taming process. It was put up as far as the base of the antlers. From it ran leather straps under the ears which were tied behind the animal s neck in such a way that a thing at the end of one strap passed through a hole in the end of the other. Under the chin a <i>viergu</i> was attached to the ring.
