<P align="justify"> Gustav Vasa (149 … <P align="justify"> Gustav Vasa (1496-1560), king of Sweden from 1523 till his death. He carried out a religious reformation, reorganizing the position of the church and the administration of the realm. He was important from the point of view of the Saamis because he revoked the right of the [[The Birkarlar|Birkarlar]] to levy taxes and transferred it to the Crown. In order to administer taxation, he established bailiffs in Lappmark (Lapinmaa), and the taxes began to be registered systematically and accurately.
