The primary aim of the policy was to publicize common cultural objectives. The agenda includes issues connected with education, language, literature, handicrafts and art, mass media and organizations, and economic, judicial and environmental questions. it also defines Saami ethnicity and its characteristics. These characteristics are expressed in the following statements in the first person plural : We are Saamis, and we desire to be Saamis. We have our own homelands, our own language and our own history. And so on. </P> <BR>
